EXHIBITION RECAP & DEBUT

Figurobot Unveils Three Robots at Wonder Festival 2026 Shanghai

From expressive robotic faces to full-body humanoid motion and hands-on development, Figurobot brought three distinct approaches to interactive robotics to WF2026 Shanghai.

On October 3–4, Figurobot joined Wonder Festival 2026 Shanghai (WF2026), a major event for figure collectors, model enthusiasts, and creators. For the first time, the company showcased three of its core robots together: FR-NIA, FR-02, and FR-R1.

Beyond the product displays, visitors were invited to explore facial expression mapping, motion capture, and hands-on customization—turning a traditional exhibition visit into an opportunity to experiment and create.

Meet the Three Robots

FR-NIA: Expressive Robotics in a Compact Form

At just 28 cm tall, FR-NIA combines a 9 cm biomimetic face with 10 degrees of freedom across its face and neck. The compact robot can display more than 50 nuanced expressions and supports voice interaction and extensive personalization.

Owners can change wigs and outfits to create their own character designs. FR-NIA also supports facial expression mapping: through the companion app, users can record their own expressions and have the robot reproduce corresponding facial movements.

FR-02: A Desktop Humanoid Built for Character Creation

Standing 60 cm tall, FR-02 features 30 degrees of freedom and Figurobot-developed miniature torque joints, enabling a range of humanlike movements.

FR-02 is also designed as a creative platform. Users can customize its appearance, develop their own characters, and edit movements. For fans of figures, models, and original characters, it offers a way to explore how a favorite design might move beyond a static display.

FR-R1: A Desktop Humanoid Platform for Developers and Researchers

FR-R1 is Figurobot’s research-oriented desktop humanoid platform. It has 27 degrees of freedom and provides secondary-development resources, including a URDF model, for robotics experimentation and development.

The platform is intended to make work in motion control, robot simulation, and secondary development more accessible in settings such as laboratories, classrooms, and personal workspaces—without requiring a large-scale robotic system.

From Watching to Creating: Hands-On Experiences at WF2026

At the booth, Figurobot brought several interactive demonstrations directly to visitors, inviting them to see how the technology works and try it for themselves.

See Your Expressions Come to Life with FR-NIA: Facial expression mapping was a popular stop at the FR-NIA experience area. Visitors experimented with recording their own expressions and watching the robot mirror them, often capturing the results on their phones.

Explore Motion and DIY Customization with FR-02: The FR-02 area featured live motion-capture demonstrations, giving visitors a closer look at how its joints move. Attendees also explored appearance customization and the possibility of bringing original character concepts into motion.

Watch FR-R1 Walk—and Look Under the Hood: FR-R1 drew attention with a walking demonstration inside an enclosed display area. Visitors watched its gait, studied its joint structure, and spoke with the team about the compact robot’s movement capabilities and in-house-developed torque joints.

What’s Next for Figurobot?

From lifelike facial expressions to full-body movement and research-focused development, the three robots reflect different ways people can interact with—and help shape—the next generation of robotics.

Figurobot plans to introduce presales for several products in stages. At the time of WF2026 Shanghai, the company was preparing to launch FR-NIA on Kickstarter in mid-October 2026.

The goal is bigger than bringing robots to a show floor: Figurobot wants to make expressive, customizable robotics more approachable for collectors, creators, and developers alike. WF2026 Shanghai offered a glimpse of that vision in action.
